📄 Do you accept insurance?
Dr. Davenport is an out-of-network provider and does not directly accept insurance. This allows us to focus entirely on your clinical needs without the limitations often imposed by insurance companies. However, we can provide you with a detailed statement (a “superbill”) that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan’s benefits.
💵 What are your fees for therapy?
Please contact us online or call our office directly at (941) 321-1971 for the most current information regarding session fees. We accept all major credit cards, checks, and cash. Payment is due at the time of service.
📍 Where are your offices located?
We have two convenient office locations to serve our clients:
- Our Sarasota office is located at 1608 Oak St., Sarasota, FL 34236.
- Our Venice office is located at 200 Capri Isles Blvd., Ste 1A, Venice, FL 34292.
🗓️ How do I schedule my first appointment?
Scheduling your first appointment is simple. The best way to begin is by calling our office at (941) 321-1971 or by filling out the secure form on our contact page . We will get back to you promptly to schedule a brief, complimentary phone consultation to ensure our practice is the right fit for your needs.
🧭 What can I expect in the first therapy session?
The first session, often called an intake session, is primarily a chance for us to get to know each other. It’s a collaborative conversation where you can share what’s bringing you to therapy, and Dr. Davenport can learn more about your history and your goals. It’s also your opportunity to ask questions and get a feel for the therapeutic process. The main goal is to establish a foundation of trust and determine the best path forward.
⏳ How long does therapy last?
The duration of therapy is highly individualized and depends on your specific needs and goals. Some clients come for a few months to work through a specific issue, while others engage in longer-term therapy for deeper personal growth and self-exploration. We will discuss your goals together, and the length of treatment is always a collaborative decision.
🤫 Is what I share in therapy confidential?
Yes, absolutely. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of psychotherapy and is protected by law. Everything you share in your sessions is kept strictly confidential. The only exceptions are rare circumstances where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or in cases of child abuse, as mandated by law.
💬 What is your approach to therapy?
Dr. Davenport’s approach is grounded in psychodynamic and interpersonal therapy. This means our work together will focus on gaining insight into the underlying patterns, experiences, and relationships that shape your current challenges. Rather than just managing symptoms, we aim to create a deeper self-understanding that leads to lasting change. You can learn more about Dr. Charles R. Davenport’s professional background and philosophy here.
💻 Do you offer virtual/telehealth appointments?
Yes, we offer secure and confidential telehealth appointments for clients located anywhere in the state of Florida. This provides a convenient and effective option for those who cannot make it to our Sarasota or Venice offices in person. Please let us know if you are interested in virtual sessions when you contact us.
